Sparse MIMO Array Synthesis for Near-Field MMW Imaging
摘要
In the field of near-field millimeter-wave imaging, the generalized sparse array synthesis (SAS) method is of great importance. This chapter introduces a convex optimization framework for designing sparse multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) arrays. The synthesis model is formulated in Sect. 7.2. A block-shaped reference pattern, serving as the optimization target, is generated in Sect. 7.3 to ensure that the contribution of every pixel within the imaging area of interest is incorporated into the model. Section 7.4 discusses the minimum inter-element spacing constraint. Numerical and experimental results are demonstrated in Sects. 7.5 and 7.6, respectively. Key issues are further discussed in Sect. 7.7, and concluding remarks are given in Sect. 7.8.
