Cultivation in the hydroponic system is a technological and economical method in terms of water consumption, so that the development of this system as an alternative to traditional agriculture having a suitable irrigation pattern for the cultivation and production of different plant species. The use of this system as an efficient way for plant production has also shown favorable results to produce medicinal plants. Hydroponic system due to its possibility to control environmental conditions is more efficient than conventional agriculture to production of medicinal plants. Also, the reported results indicate the success of the hydroponic system for the production of medicinal plants at a commercial level. This system, with its greater control of different environmental factors, gave an appropriate opportunity to change the quality and quantity of medicinal plants by application of different biotic and abiotic elicitors. This chapter explores and highlights the use of different elicitors to enhancing the quantity and quality of medicinal plants under hydroponic system.
