Synthetic Biology Patents and Technology
摘要
Synthetic biology (SB) is redefining contemporary biotechnology as it allows the rational strategy and creation of biological parts for new functions. Some of the significant innovations considering the technological base and numerous practical applications of synthetic biology are programmable biosensors, green biofuel production, CRISPR based gene and crop therapies. The challenges of biosafety, scalability, regulatory loopholes, and ethics are addressed in parallel with the requirement for precise traceable biological data. The emergence of synthetic biology in India is also showcased given its nascent research capacity despite minimal institutional and industrial involvement. Patenting nuances and the increasing significance of interdisciplinarity in protecting innovation has been observed. As synthetic biology evolves, it presents an avenue for revolutionary solutions to global problems spanning food and health, energy and climate resilience provided responsible frameworks direct its development.
