Aerotropolis Rising: Reimagining Economic Urbanism at the Crossroads of Mobility, Innovation, and Place in Western Sydney
摘要
One of the most ambitious urban initiatives in modern Australian history is the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, a daring fusion of economic strategy, spatial design, and infrastructure (Jazbec et al. 2020). In contrast to other airport-centric schemes, the Aerotropolis is intended to be a fully integrated urban ecosystem centered around the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, rather than just a transportation hub. The Aerotropolis, which has its roots firmly established in Greater Sydney’s Three Cities Strategy, is a reinvention of city-making, innovation, and regional equity for the twenty-first century. It is more than just a logistics hub or employment cluster.
