Advancing the Soul
摘要
This chapter develops the concept of the soul path for advancing the integrated nature of leadership. The soul is presented as the integration of body, mind, and spirit, manifested through maturation, wholeness, and connection. Taking care of the soul involves being attentive to the sacred in daily life and engaging the big questions of meaning and purpose. The chapter proposes four key shifts that advance the soul path: an identity shift from ego to the true self; a relational shift from individualism to interdependence; a managerial shift from control to empowerment; and a communal shift from insularity to engagement with the wider community. These shifts are situated within the context of Catholic school leadership and the call to holistic formation. The chapter concludes by affirming the soul path as a journey of ongoing conversion and transformation, rooted in Christ and responsive to the promptings of the Spirit.
