Naftifine is a topical allylamine antifungal drug that has proven to be safe as well as effective in the management of superficial fungal infections. It has demonstrated fungicidal properties in vitro against a broad spectrum of dermatophyte fungi, along with good activity against candida and Aspergillus spp. Further, naftifine has antagonistic effects against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
