Cyproterone acetate (CA) is a potent non-steroidal anti-androgen with progestational activity. It is usually used in combination with ethinyl oestradiol in treating females with hirsutism and hormonal acne. Though various dosing schedules have been outlined for CA, the 2 mg dose from day 5 to 25 of the menstrual cycle has proven to be most appropriate when compared to higher dosing schedules.
