Zinc in Dermatology
摘要
Zinc is an essential trace element with a wide range of applications in dermatology. Owing to its anti-neutrophilic property, zinc displays anti-inflammatory effects. It has proven to be valuable in a number of dermatological disorders like psoriasis, acne, warts, melasma, molluscum contagiosum, herpes simplex and necrolytic acral erythema. As it does not demonstrate side effects, it can be used for long-term therapy. Nonetheless, it has more of an adjuvant role, and its addition along with conventional drug may help to reduce the duration of therapy with them.
