Rifampicin, though primarily an antitubercular drug, has demonstrated efficacy in a wide number of dermatologic disorders. In leprosy, it constitutes an integral component of both paucibacillary and multibacillary multidrug regimens. Interestingly, rifampicin has also been utilized in treating selected cases of psoriasis, owing to its anti-inflammatory effects. Besides, rifampicin has been used as combination therapy in bacillary angiomatosis, cat scratch disease and granuloma annulare.
