Anakinra is an IL-1 receptor antagonist with a wide range of dermatologic applications. Though approved for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, its utility as an off-label drug extends to disorders like Schnitzler’s syndrome, cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome, DIRA (deficiency of IL-1 antagonist) syndrome, atopic dermatitis, pyoderma gangrenosum, hidradenitis suppurativa and Sweet’s syndrome.
