Hydroxyurea is a small molecule with the chemical structure of urea along with an attached hydroxyl group. In dermatology, it has been employed as an off-label drug for treating psoriasis, refractory to other forms of treatment. Besides, in psoriasis, hydroxyurea can be combined with methotrexate, and gradually tapered off once clinical improvement is obtained.
