This chapter examines China’s economic strategy from 2025 to 2035, focusing on its goal of narrowing the GDP gap with the United States. The chapter argues that the success of China's competition with the US will primarily be measured by whether China can achieve GDP parity with the United States by 2035. To reach this goal, China must overcome significant challenges in technology, finance, military strength, and global governance. Drawing on Japan's economic experience, the chapter explores both the opportunities and obstacles China faces, emphasizing the potential risks of stagnation, especially as China's economic growth slows in global markets. The chapter further explores the strategic policy framework of “Not Seeking Hegemony; Anchoring Asian Market; Sharing for All.” This approach advocates for China to lead the creation of an economic order in Asia, fostering shared growth and prosperity within the region while maintaining a competitive but peaceful coexistence with the United States and other global powers.

摘要
