The Human Side of Cybersecurity: Usability in E-banking Security
摘要
“People are the weakest link in the security chain”—Schneier (Secrets and lies: digital security in a networked world. Wiley, 2000, [1], Cybersecurity is as much a human challenge as it is a technical one. The challenge of cybersecurity is both technical and personal. In order to comprehend how human behavior affects the acceptance and efficacy of security systems, this study examines the convergence of usable security, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). To provide a set of recommendations for creating more secure and user-friendly e-banking systems, the study uses both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Customers of cooperative banks were surveyed to learn more about their opinions of how simple it is to use security features in online banking. By combining these insights, we provide a user-centered framework that prioritizes usability, simplicity, and user acceptance in order to improve cybersecurity procedures. The results highlight how crucial it is to match human behavior with security measures in order to reduce risks and enhance compliance. In order to maintain a balance between security and user experience, the paper’s conclusion highlights the significance of incorporating usable security principles into the creation of e-banking systems.
