Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Central Solar Billboard Receiver
摘要
Solar power tower comprises heliostats that focus sunlight on the central receiver, which is located at the top. The receiver is generally comprised of heat transfer fluid with molten salt or water-steam. Solar energy is utilized to heat the synthetic oil or molten salt, which can provide the heat/thermal energy at a higher temperature situated in insulated tanks of a concentrating solar power (CSP) power plant. The electricity is then provided with the help of a steam turbine. Due to the load demand, electricity is generated by using solar energy. Based on the effective central receiver, the CSP efficiency is estimated with respect to the receiver operating temperature, velocity limit, heat rejection, thermal losses, and system losses. In this paper, the solar billboard receiver is utilized for transferring the solar energy to the hot storage tank in order to generate electricity. The numerical simulation analysis of the solar billboard receiver in the CSP plant is performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics-CFD simulation.
