This chapter gives a gentle introduction to basic vector and matrix computations using NumPy. Essential operations such as vector addition, norm, unit vector, distance and angle between two vectors, matrix addition, matrix multiplication and inverse matrix will be presented. Further, we will demonstrate the principle behind linear combination and matrices as linear transformations using examples.
