Smart Living: A Comprehensive Framework for IoT-Based Home Automation
摘要
With the evolution of sensors and IoT (Internet of Things), home automation systems have evolved to provide comfort, convenience, and security to users for better lifestyle and to increase energy efficiency, and remote access for enhanced convenience in a fast-paced lifestyle. This paper focuses on designing an IoT-based home automation system for making household chores easy and fast. In this home automation system, multiple sensors such as DHT (Digital Humidity and Temperature), MQ2, PIR (Passive Infrared sensor), and a flame sensor are integrated with Node MCU, which is heart of the system. Output from NodeMCU sent to the BLYNK application using Wi-Fi connectivity. All appliances in a range of 45 m can be monitored using smartphone application. Security of the entire system is taken care of with Secure Shell (SSL) over transport layer. All the activities can be easily monitored through smartphone applications. In a nutshell, the entire home automation system is implemented which is easily scalable, convenient, user-friendly, and secure. This paper outlines the design architecture, development process, and experimental results of the prototype, emphasizing its potential to significantly improve quality of life while conserving energy and enhancing safety. This scalable and adaptable system represents a significant step forward in the adoption of IoT in everyday living environments.
