Impact of Financial and Non-financial Incentives on Employee Motivation
摘要
Organizations can provide both financial and non-financial incentives to their staff members in order to motivate them and enhance the job satisfaction. Employees who are motivated become more productive, which results in a more successful business that can accomplish its objectives. This study aims to shed more light on the strategic significance of incentive systems by examining the effects of non-financial and financial rewards on employee motivation. By collecting information from the respondents through a survey, the impact of financial and non-financial incentives on employee motivation was analyzed and tested using correlation and regression analyses via SPSS software. Furthermore, the impact of an employee’s gender on incentive preference was also investigated. According to the majority of respondents, employees are usually more motivated by financial incentives than by non-financial ones. The most significant predictor of motivation for work is the salary, followed by interest in the job position, learning new skills, and gaining experience, having positive or supportive coworkers and employees, and having a convenient workspace, respectively.
