Women’s Empowerment Index
摘要
This chapter presents the empowerment of rural women involved in dairy farming across three groups such as V1 (M), V1 (T), and V2—using a Women’s Empowerment Index based on five dimensions: decision-making, economic, social, legal, and psychological empowerment. Findings show that women in V1 (M), who adopt modern dairy farming practices, are significantly more empowered across all dimensions compared to women in V1 (T) and V2. Income-earning potential emerged as the most influential factor; it was highly correlated with other women empowerment indicators in V1 (M), while it was less correlated with other women empowerment indicators in V1 (T) and V2. Therefore, it is hypothesized that the income earning potentiality from modern dairy farming has substantially contributed to enhancing women’s empowerment in V1 (M).
