As the student hunches over a breadboard, flickering his/her eyes between the tangled wire jumpers and the code on the computer screen, the robot that is supposed to follow the black line goes off course. It keeps going in the wrong direction, even though it was programmed to follow the line on the floor. Even though frustrated, the curious student modifies the threshold value of one of the line sensors in the if-else statement and reruns the code.
