Mechatronics Design in Robotics: Mechanical, Control and Sensor Systems Integration
摘要
This chapter explores the integration of mechanical, control, and sensor systems in robotics education, emphasising a mechatronic design approach. It provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary for developing intelligent robotic systems capable of operating in diverse environments. The discussion covers robot mechanisms and configurations, mechanical design principles, control systems, and electronics, supported by hands-on learning strategies such as project-based learning. Emerging technologies like CAD tools, AR visualisation, digital twins, and AI-assisted design are highlighted for enhancing student engagement and design efficiency. Furthermore, the chapter addresses hierarchical control architectures, sensor fusion, and autonomous navigation techniques. By combining theoretical understanding with real-world applications, this chapter aims to equip learners with the interdisciplinary competencies required for modern robotics development and innovation.
