This research paper scrutinises the relationship between cloud computing and its impact on environmental sustainability, particularly regarding carbon dioxide emissions reduction in data centres and the ways to control its damages. Cloud computing provides excellent ease of use and affordability reduction and is a major source of energy consumption and emissions in today’s world. However, Green Data Centre (GDC) strategies appear opportunistic and encompass energy consumption in hardware and renewable energy. This paper also emphasises novel methods, including Genesis technology that utilises solar power for servers to mitigate e-waste. Thus highlighting the importance of the Green Data Centre, which involves eliminating redundancy and changing energy methods to bring innovations in sustainable cloud informative technology. The work calls for the development of reasonable green computing models that are economically viable and have a minimal negative impact on the environment.
