Emergency diesel generator sets (EDGs) provide emergency power for the safe shutdown of nuclear power plant reactors. The availability and reliability of EDGs are prerequisites for the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Conducting reliability data analysis and research on EDGs can help improve the quality of reliability related work for EDGs equipment. Given the importance of EDGs in nuclear power plants, this article introduces the structural, model, and manufacturer configuration information of EDGs in various operating nuclear power plants of a certain nuclear power group, and preliminarily summarizes the equipment reliability data collected from the commercial operation of each unit in the nuclear power plant until December 31, 2023. By analyzing the failure data, operation data, and unavailable data of EDGs, it is possible to discover whether there are abnormal and unfavorable trends in the reliability data of various types of EDGs equipment, evaluate whether there are potential defects in EDGs, and propose improvement suggestions to continuously improve the reliability level of EDGs and the safety level of nuclear power plants.
