Research on Decontamination Test of Radioactive Metal Items Based on Ultrasound and Electrochemistry
摘要
This article focuses on the preparation and degradation needs of radioactive metal waste generated from the cutting and dismantling of pipelines, containers, structural components, and other materials from decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Ultrasonic chemical decontamination and electrochemical decontamination methods were used to conduct decontamination tests, and effective decontamination formulas were selected to obtain decontamination parameters under different conditions. A comparative experiment was conducted on the system pipeline using 10 different formulations and 5 different decontamination process parameters for ultrasonic chemical decontamination. Through experiments, data on surface contamination levels of radioactive substances and changes in gamma radiation levels were obtained for 10 formulations under ultrasound frequency of 40 kHz and room temperature conditions for 30, 60, 90, 120, and 180 min. Experiments have shown that the effectiveness of ultrasonic chemical cleaning continues to decline with increasing time, but the rate of decline is slow, and longer cleaning time is required for items with more severe pollution. A decontamination scheme based on acidic electrolyte was proposed for electrochemical decontamination, and decontamination effect tests were conducted under different voltage and time conditions to elect suitable parameter combinations. Then, radioactive items such as pipelines, containers, and structural components were decontaminated, and surface contamination levels and gamma radiation level changes before and after decontamination were obtained. Experiments have shown that electrochemical cleaning can achieve good cleaning results in a short period of time, and the cleaning effect is also significant for items with severe pollution.
