Radiation Protection Design for the Replace of Evaporation System of Radioactive Waste Liquid

The surface radiation level of the heating chamber is as high as 96.7 mSv/h. Reduce the radiation level at the working point to half of its original level by setting a shielding board with observation holes and arm operation holes; Choosing the upper and lower circulation pipes with the largest diameter for plasma cutting effectively reduces the exposure of cutting personnel. The plasma cutting efficiency is about twice that of grinding wheel cutting, the cutting time is about half that of grinding wheel cutting, and the distance between personnel and pollutants during cutting is 3.3 times that of grinding wheel cutting. The exposure dose of Bench grinder cutting personnel is about 22 times that of plasma cutting personnel; The rationality of radiation protection design was verified through simulation exercises and the work efficiency of construction personnel was improved. After simulation exercises, the expected operating time of this process was reduced from 91 to 55 min, a reduction of ~ 40%. The expected exposure of personnel was reduced from 9.2 to 5.66 mSv, which is 61.5% of the original design. In addition, a multi person rotation operation method is also adopted. During the whole recovery process, the maximum individual dose was 3.8 mSv, and the Collective dose was 42.08 mSv. The radiation safety of workers was guaranteed.
