Much of the body of literature on sex work primarily focused on the HIV status of sex workers and related issues. Significantly less light has been shed on their general physical health and sexual health. This chapter exclusively focuses on the physical health of sex workers, including the physical health challenges, status of HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted infections, health awareness and safe sex practices. A range of physical health problems of commercial sex workers has become a serious concern for public health policymakers. The chapter also sees the attempts to create awareness and the challenges of implementing the same thing.
