A membrane distillation system is designed with water quality monitoring. The system is controlled and monitored via a smartphone app, providing real-time data. The purification system, pump, and monitoring system are powered using solar collectors. Energy output and efficiency from the collector at 4 distinct temperatures at 35, 40, 45, and 50 °C were calculated. It was found that with an inlet water temperature of (35 °C), the energy output by the collector was 638.05 W with an efficiency of 37.7%.
