Modernizing national governance system and enhancing capacity is closely related to the success of the cause of the Party and the country, the long-term stability of the country, and the well-being of the people. As a source and distribution center of policy ideas, think tanks play an important role in the national governance system and global governance, and they are valued by governments around the world. They internally assume the responsibility of scientific research to support democratic and scientific governmental decision-making, and externally make an important contribution to the national soft power and strengthen China’s voice in the international arena. Driven by external social demand and internal knowledge production requirement, think tank construction is gradually moving from specialization and science-orientation to disciplinization, and the disciplinary system of think tank science and engineering is taking shape.
