Data, methods and models are one of the core research areas of think tank science and engineering. With the arrival of the digital era, data have been generated and accumulated at an unprecedented scale and speed. These data carry the information about the status of various systems such as policy, economic and social systems, which have important value for think tank research. In order to better access and utilize data for high-quality decision consulting, internationally renowned think tanks have paid special attention to the innovation and application of research methods and models as a way to enhance data value. Over the past decades, a rich variety of research methods and models have been developed to study different types of problems, and related innovation is on the rise. With the DIIS method of the Double Helix Methodology in Think Tanks as the core, this chapter elaborates on the data, and the main methods and models in think tank research for the sake of better solving the problems in think tank research while inheriting and using think tank methods.
