This final chapter presents my findings on the specificities and affordances of digital sinographs, providing an overview of how sinographs are utilized in digital language art. A four-dimension model—semiotic, semantic, procedural, and spatial—is proposed to summarize the common approaches to these artworks. While developed through the study of sinograph-based digital works, this model also highlights aspects that may be overlooked when analyzing and creating digital language art in any language. Additionally, this chapter will discuss potential future directions, such as the impact of AI and large language models (LLMs), which should be investigated by artists and scholars of text-based media art.

摘要

This final chapter presents my findings on the specificities and affordances of digital sinographs, providing an overview of how sinographs are utilized in digital language art. A four-dimension model—semiotic, semantic, procedural, and spatial—is proposed to summarize the common approaches to these artworks. While developed through the study of sinograph-based digital works, this model also highlights aspects that may be overlooked when analyzing and creating digital language art in any language. Additionally, this chapter will discuss potential future directions, such as the impact of AI and large language models (LLMs), which should be investigated by artists and scholars of text-based media art.
