Thermal Safety Analysis of Brazed Water-Colled Beam Window Under Extreme Operating Conditions
摘要
Shenzhen Superconducting Soft X-Ray Free Electron Laser (S3FEL) will adopt advanced superconducting acceleration technology to provide the soft X-ray light source. This paper focuses on the thermal safety analysis of a previously designed brazed water-cooled beam window (BW), which used to isolate and protect the accelerator ultra-high vacuum system. Based on the energy distribution, the finite element analysis (FEA) method was utilised to analyse the thermal-structural coupling of the BW under extreme operating conditions, including beam shrinkage, beam eccentricity, reduced flow rate of cooling water. This study clarified the safety operating threshold and provided significant theoretical basis for the design of BW in S3FEL.
