However, Mining is considered one of the hazardous job roles, where workers are constantly exposed to toxic gases, low visibility, and hazardous conditions that can occur at any time. In this respect, the smart miner’s helmet is designed around protective gear at the centre of a miner’s welfare. This helmet was developed using the Internet of Things & sensors that monitor the ambient environment for temperature, humidity, methane and carbon monoxide in real time. When conditions in the mine become too hazardous, it warns both the miner and the control room instantly, so vital minutes can be used to take action. Safety involves not only detecting hazards but also reporting them to the supervisor. This helmet uses the latest technology to withstand harsh mining conditions and is reliable, durable, energy efficient and low cost. Therefore, a smart miner’s helmet can make a hazardous job much safer by using real-time monitoring data of the mining environment. It also provides peace of mind to miners and their families. Thus, increase worker efficiency.
