Poland’s Trade with Asia
摘要
This chapter examines economic relations between Poland and selected Asian economies from the time of economic transition in Poland in 1990 until 2024. The geographical scope of the analysis in the chapter is limited to Poland and major Asian markets – both developed and emerging. These include China, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia as well as a brief overview of Central Asian and ASEAN economies. The analysis is split into four periods: (1) from 1990 to 2004 (Poland’s accession to the European Union), (2) 2004 until and the global financial crisis 2007–2008, (3) period between the financial crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic, and (4) the post-pandemic economic recovery. The final section concludes and makes some policy recommendations for future economic cooperation.
