This chapter explores the intricate relationship between political dynamics and the well-being of individuals and communities in Central Asia. The study draws upon historical, cultural, and contemporary political insights to explore the factors influencing happiness and the role of governance in shaping subjective well-being in the region. Central Asia’s diverse linguistic, religious, and historical landscape has contributed to a complex political terrain, influenced by historical legacies, post-Soviet transitions, and geopolitical factors. Through an examination of the challenges faced by Central Asia, including economic disparities, governance issues, and social transformations, the study aims to offer a nuanced understanding of the political dimensions of well-being. This research also seeks to identify opportunities for positive political interventions that can enhance happiness and societal welfare for holistic development in the region. The study utilizes World Value Survey data to estimate subjective well-being in Central Asia from a political perspective.
