CCAR29.603 of China Civil Aviation Regulations proposed requirements of civil aircraft materials for airworthiness verification, which is also the premise and foundation of material application in civil aircraft. The materials airworthiness technology always restricts the advancement of civil aircraft R & D and manufacturing technology. The paper interprets the requirements of CCAR29.603 to make this clause more readable and executable. To scientifically and reasonably define the scope of materials, which applicable to airworthiness clause, by analyzing materials requirements, failure modes and failure effects etc. as the premise and basis for material airworthiness. According to application situation of materials in civil aircraft, the paper provides 3 methods, such as use experience, material performance data, and material test, to verify airworthiness conformity.
