The shoreline response by coastal protection structures as part of stakeholder policies in coastal areas should be studied as an indicator of development progress. This research aims to determine the rate of response/change of the shoreline by the coastal protection structure at Gandoriah Beach. This study is based on Remote Sensing and Geography Information Systems. Shoreline data were extracted from Landsat imagery with a temporal resolution of 10 years, then processed through preprocessing (radiometric correction), processing (supervised image classification method), and post-processing stages. DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) was used to analyze shoreline data. Data analysis reveals an abrasion-accretion pattern along Gandoriah’s coast, with an average abrasion rate of 0.44 m/yr and an accretion rate of 5.96 m/yr. Structures alter the flow of energy and matter, influencing sediment transport along the shoreline and altering morphological expression through abrasion and accretion. This condition allows stakeholders to regulate the construction of coastal protection structures, thereby reducing other negative impacts.
