Accurate agriculturalland measurement is essentialfor determining agricultural insurance coverage and assessing claims. This study examines the use of drones with gimbal camera system for precise land mapping in agricultural insurance. By utilizing high-resolution aerial imagery and advanced mapping algorithms, the drone enables accurate land area calculations. Results show that for flat terrain (0–3% slope), the error margin is 0.1%, with a land area difference of 0.01 hectares. For steep to very steep terrain (25- >60% slope), the error margin ranges from 0.1% to 17.9%, with a land area difference of 0.01–0.05 hectares. The study demonstrates that drone technology not only improves measurement accuracy but also enhances the efficiency of the insurance process, reducing time and costs compared to traditional land surveying methods. This technology supports the assessment of damage caused by flooding, drought, and pest or disease infestations, enabling more accurate and timely claims for affected areas. The findings highlight the potential of drones to modernize agricultural insurance, providing scalable and reliable solutions for insurers and farmers.
