Technique of automatic carrier landing is the enabling technology of shipboard aircrafts, which can effectively improve the performance of shipboard aircrafts under complex weather conditions. Aiming at the overall design of the automatic carrier landing system, a combination of Operational Concept Document (OCD) and system modeling was adopted to establish the state machine model of Systems Modeling Language for automatic carrier landing system. The Dynamic simulation results indicate that the state machine model can accurately describe the complex behavioral changes during the landing process of shipboard aircrafts. Compared to traditional document based development method, our approach by using state machine model has stronger readability and higher accuracy, effectively improving system development efficiency and design quality.
