Sustainable Management Practice in the Textile Industry: Empowering the Designer Through Strategy
摘要
This study addresses sustainable practices within the textile industry, emphasizing the designer's role in influencing corporate strategies toward environmental goals. Given the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) approach, particularly Goal 12 on sustainable consumption, the study identifies key challenges designers face due to limitations in authority and strategic involvement. Using a grounded theory approach and case studies, we explore effective design-led strategies for circularity, focusing on sustainable materials selection and waste reduction in textile manufacturing. Emphasizing the potential for systemic change, this paper aims to empower designers within organizational structures to actively contribute to sustainable development.
