Good afternoon, distinguished scholars and students! This afternoon, we are convening a forum titled “Dialogue between Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Asian Civilization”. We are honored to welcome a distinguished guest—Professor Kimura Kiyotaka, a renowned Japanese scholar in the fields of Chinese thought and Buddhist studies. Allow me to briefly introduce Professor Kimura. He was born in 1940 in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, and earned his doctorate in Buddhist Studies from the University of Tokyo. He has served as a professor and doctoral advisor at the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo. His research primarily focuses on the intellectual history of Chinese Buddhism, especially the Huayan school.
