Applied Behavior Analysis-Based Strategies for Transitioning to Inclusive Education Settings
摘要
Initial applied behavior analysis services for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder often start in a highly structured or familiar environment, such as the home or a clinic, with the ultimate goal of transitioning to a more inclusive setting. As behavior analysts work with clients and their support networks to plan for transitions to inclusive education contexts, they can utilize a variety of behavior analytic strategies to promote successful transitions. This chapter summarizes both pre-transition strategies and post-transition strategies that behavior analysts can implement as students move to inclusive education settings. Then, two case studies of successful transitions into inclusive education settings in the United Arab Emirates are offered as examples of how such strategies have been integrated and utilized in real-world contexts.
