Improving the Vocal Abilities of Children with Autism
摘要
This study explored the effectiveness of echoic and exemplar training in improving the vocal abilities of two children with autism. The first participant was a 5-year-old boy with cat’s eye syndrome, and the second was an 8-year-old boy with autism. Both participants attended a special education school and were identified as having a phonological disorder. Using an AB design, the study assessed the impact of the ABA training on articulation. Results showed significant improvements, with gains of up to 57% for the first participant and 71% for the second, indicating the effectiveness of ABA based echoic & exemplar training in enhancing the articulation in both the participants and generalization.
