Acquisition of verbal and motor play skills can be a challenging task for the children with autism. The present study examines the effectiveness of video modeling in teaching verbal and motor play skills to children with autism using a video modeling intervention, using a single-subject design with three participants with autism. Participants 1 and 2 achieved 100% mastery in both motor and verbal responses, while participant 3 attained over 73% mastery in motor responses but only 17% in verbal responses. The intervention was personalized to each participant’s needs and showed that video modeling intervention resulted in the rapid acquisition of motor & verbal play skills. The study highlights the effectiveness of video modeling in teaching play skills to children with autism.
