This chapter presents two case studies of short-process industrial applications of ironsands: (1) the smelting of ironsands using a rotary kiln–electric furnace route in New Zealand, and (2) the smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite using a similar process at Panzhihua Iron and Steel in China. These cases provide valuable references for the industrial utilization of ironsands in alternative ironmaking routes.
