Genomic Diversity and Host Adaptation of Tomato Leaf Curl New Delhi Virus
摘要
The chapter summarises the genetic propensity of ToLCNDV, justifying its emergence as a phytopathogen of global importance. Its expanding geographic distribution, adaptability to new hosts, and new environments are surely pointers to the global conquest of this pathogen. Frequencies of mutation and recombination, along with the ability to capture satellite DNAs and trans replication components of other begomoviruses, make it an evolutionarily upward-moving virus. To manage this virus, a good support system with complete information and knowledge on various factors contributing to its success is required.
