Green hydrogen is emerging as a key component in the transition to a low-carbon future as the global energy sector undergoes a significant transformation. By offering a systematic perspective on the energy transition and the strategic deployment of green hydrogen, this publication aims to assist utility practitioners. It describes recent advancements in renewable energy and highlights significant organizational, financial, and technological obstacles that might prevent the integration of green hydrogen. Through the process capability model (PCM), we provided businesses with a diagnostic tool to assess their transition preparedness, a novel addition to this study. Utility firms may better understand their situation and provide clear paths for revolutionary change by implementing a process-centric strategy. The chapter also identifies prominent figures in the sector who have started green hydrogen initiatives. It also examines several key elements of transition preparation, including labor readiness, infrastructure, and regulations. These insights will aid in developing successful strategies and removing obstacles for energy practitioners, utilities specialists, process consultants, and sales capture leads. This chapter serves as a guide and roadmap for companies seeking to lead in green hydrogen and integrate with sustainable, future-ready energy infrastructures.

摘要
