Performing urodynamics in children is usually considered to be very difficult—a major deterring factor in the acceptance of UDS by most pediatric surgeons. Also, if a proper protocol is not followed while performing the test, there may be artefacts and important information may be missed, making the test results appear useless, whereas if the test is performed properly, it can yield a plethora of information which can be instrumental in further treatment of the patient. This chapter outlines the practical considerations while performing the test starting from patient preparation and positioning to actual performance of the test and ending the study.
