Home to one-fourth of the world population, the South Asian region is a bouquet of diversity. This region faces an uphill task to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the presence of a large number of shared and diverse challenges. Each country has tried to devise programmes to address these challenges with varying degrees of success. All SDGs are interdependent and have an impact on mental well-being. This chapter examines the relationship between various SDGs and mental health. It also explores various barriers to the SDGs to improve mental health. There is a need to integrate mental wellness with these SDGs and devise programmes jointly with shared experiences.
