Privacy Considerations in Data Analytics for Data Security: A Case Study of India
摘要
Data analytics is a critical tool in affecting all spheres of human life. However, the collection and analysis of sensitive data raises significant challenges to data privacy efforts. This paper explores how proliferation of Internet of Things coupled with Big Data has raised concerns regarding Data Privacy throughout the world and government across has come up with regulatory frameworks. The paper further discusses relevant concepts, approaches, and research directions to address the challenge of data privacy. In this context, India with approximately 1.4 billion population and data being the new oil urgently requires privacy considerations in data analytics for data security. Further the unique position of India in development Index’s brings the need for progress from merely “data protection” efforts toward “data empowerment” of entities by granting them greater control and autonomy of their data. To achieve the objective of privacy in Data Analytics, principles developed based on the framework of privacy by design have become the accepted norm across industry and among academicians and researchers. In recent times, PrivySeC security solution aims at providing end to end data privacy solution. Finally, the ultimate objective of all such framework and solutions along with legislation and regulatory mechanism for data privacy has moved from “Data and Privacy” to “Data with Privacy” and with the current progress in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; it is necessary to achieve data privacy with “Data Empowerment” to protect the privacy along with develop an ecosystem for development.
