Definition: Scoliosis is a deformity of spine in which the spine is bend sideways and has one or more lateral curves measuring more than 10 degrees. Although the coronal plane deformity is the major component, it also has sagittal and transverse plane deformity. So, the deformity in scoliosis is complex three-dimensional (3D) in nature (Fig. 63.1).
