The Fuqing Nuclear Power Project “Hualong One” demonstration unit is of great significance to the industrialization development of China’s independent third-generation nuclear power technology. Its project risk management requires not only standardization and scientific rigor but also a greater emphasis on operability and the importance of driving change through management in project risk management. The purpose of writing this thesis is to explore and study methods of project risk management, to conduct feasibility arguments for related work outcomes, and to provide a reference for subsequent nuclear power project risk management work. This thesis is based on the evolution of the risk management of the “Hualong One” demonstration project, focusing on the application of risk management during the construction phase of the engineering project. It discusses how the Fuqing project team, in establishing the “Hualong One” project risk management system in stages, continuously delved into the potential risks of the project construction, how it gradually constructed and implemented an integrated linkage mechanism for project risk management, how it established a TOP10 classification control mechanism to refine the responsibility system of the risk control, and a series of pre-control and classified control measures to enhance the management and control capabilities for major risk events, to promote the implementation of risk management, and to eliminate or mitigate the impact of major risks on the construction project.
